Mystery Quilt 2006

Finished size: 78" x 94.5"

1. From Dark 1 and Dark 2 cut 2 strips from each fabric 2” x width of fabric.
2. From Background cut 4 strips 3.5” x width of fabric.
3. Sew a Dark 1 and Background strip together along the length. Press seam toward Background. Repeat to make 2 sewn sets. The strip sets should measure 5” wide when sewn.
4. Sew a Dark 2 and Background strip together along the length. Press seam toward Background. Repeat to make 2 sewn sets. The strip sets should measure 5” wide when sewn.
5. Cut the strip sets into 40 sections of Background/Dark 1 units and 40 sections of Background/Dark2 units. UPDATE: Cut the sections 2" wide.
6. Sew the units cut from number 5 above to the units made in Step 2 and Step 3. Make sure the four-patches are oriented as shown. Press seam toward background. Sewn units measure 5”.
